Description
Chamomile infusions made with dedicate petals have enjoyed for centuries. The ancient Greek gave the plant its name, as Chamomile grows close to the ground and has an apple-like aroma. The Chamomile flower was revered by the ancient Egyptian, Greek and Romans for its myriad of uses as a drink, a garnish on dishes, a garden flower and for preparing and aromatic bath. In ancient Egypt, Chamomile was considered so precious that the high priest of Tutankhamen compared the sunny, daisy-like flowers to the sun and subsequently dedicated Chamomile to their sun god. Experienced gardeners think of Chamomile as a ‘plant Doctor’ herb – as it is believed that it has a remedial and healthy effect on neighboring plants.
